- [oct 21 2001] An insider tells us that Madame Rockford was written into Jim's will a month and a half prior to his disappearance. Upon his demise; she would have inherited twelve thousand dollars-- a hefty amount in the 1900's. A FURTHER INTRIGUE: The will specifically stated that Rockford would not have been able to collect in the event of a disappearance or murder, only a natural death...? Was Jim suspicious even then? Or did someone else convince him to add a clause to protect him? What's your opinion? |

- [oct 14 2001] rockd1926 gave us this juicy tidbit: Senator Kale's letter of bribery to Jim, the first in a long line of correspondence. Members can view the document here. It has also been added to the collective. |
- [oct 11 2001] Newest theory up for review, as submitted by keerpy, is that Madeline could have been dealing illegal drugs with Senator Kale. POSSIBLE BECAUSE: Jim's reaction to Kale's opium habit was strong and opposed. If Madeline wanted to continue her addiction, she would have to get it by Jim. DOUBTFUL BECAUSE: By all accounts, Jim and Madeline had a strong friendship, if nothing else. It was unlikely they had any serious secrets from each other-- especially since Jim knew about Hachenbak from the beginning. |
